Park Avenue Free Methodist offer the following clubs:

Youth Club

Every Friday night from 8.00 pm – 9.30 pm during school terms, Park Avenue Free Methodist have a Youth club for young people from year 8 to the age of 14, from both the church and community to make new friends, play, socialise and hear a short message about God.

There are many fun and exciting physical activities such as football, badminton, and dodge ball, where everyone is encouraged to join in and have an enjoyable time!  You can play pool or sit down and play some board games with your friends, or simply chat to each other while you eat some treats from our tuck shop.  A short message from one of our leaders will be given and we pray the youth will be both encouraged and challenged.

On the last Friday of every month the youth decide where they shall go on their outing, which is thoroughly enjoyed by all, sometimes it is to ten pin bowling, the ice rink or crazy golf, lots of fun places.

In may, we travel to Ganaway youth house for a youth camp weekend, where we enjoyed many fun and exhausting activities such as archery, canoeing and an assault course as well as playing the chilling ‘hunt’ at night!  Everyone had an amazing time and we hope to go back for another marvelous weekend.  If you want to come along and be a part of this, just come along on the second Friday in September at 8 pm in the church hall in the church car park.

The YoYo’s are a group within the church that were once young, hence the meaning of the name YOYO’S (you’re only young once).  We gather once a month (usually a Saturday) to do something together with our families.  We had great fun as we went to the miniature movie house outside comber, we also went out to the golfing range to hit some balls and as well as enjoying some good food we also raised money through a sponsored walk to aid the needy of Rwanda.  What we do is great fun, good friendship and very wholesome for everyone.  When you come to our church, we will, if you want, filter you into an age bracket that will allow you to take part in all that we enjoy doing.

JAM Club

Where do you go on a Friday night?  Want to make some new friends.  If you are aged 3 to primary 7 we would love to see you from 6.30 pm to 7.45 pm every Friday night.  JAM club stands for “Jesus and me” and every week we learn about the Bible but most important of all we learn about Jesus and how he can change our lives.  We also learn new songs and have fun with quizzes. At JAM club we have games, craft and even throw in juice and biscuits.  Every year we go out somewhere special.  If you want to find out what we are all about why not come along to one of our JAM club meetings.

Park Avenue Toddlers (PATS)

Are you free on a Monday morning and your child is 3 or under.  Then come along and join our friendly toddler group at Park Avenue Free Methodist church – 10 am to 11.30 am.  Here you can make new friends while your child enjoys a happy playtime, sing along nursery rhymes and various activities throughout the year.  We have a friendly team, who will provide a welcoming tea or coffee and refreshments for the toddlers.  We hope you can join us on the second Monday in September; we’re looking forward to meeting you all.  So come along and bring a friend.

The Friendship Club

The friendship club happens every Tuesday from 12.45 to 2.15 pm.  We have a really great time together and enjoy the full programme that is offered.  We have a ‘thought for the day’, followed by a light lunch, the women have their craft time and the men play pool, darts, table games etc.  We also enjoy our outings and special events throughout the year.  Its great to be together, making friends and enjoying each others company.

If you are unemployed, retired, or just happen to have a Tuesday free we would love you to join us at our ‘friendship club’.  So take time out and come along and join us on the first Tuesday in September.  We look forward to seeing you.

Connections is a group within the Church who meet on the last Saturday of each month to socialize. We try and offer a diverse range of activities suitable for various interests. The age range is from 16 years to 40 years of age (or there abouts). Details of the outings are announced in the services in the week leading up to the event.
